A double-gourd form in silver, hollow-formed so it weighs far less than it looks. The waist is bound with a thin band of braided silver.
The gourd is one of the most common shapes in Chinese folk objects — it appears on doorways, on medicine bottles, and hanging from the belts of people who travel. It is roundly practical and quietly meaningful at the same time.
